Mayuri Indian Restaurant: Authentic Indian Cuisine in Herndon, VA

We recently visited Mayuri Indian Restaurant in Virginia with our whole family and had a great experience. We ordered kothu, biryani, chicken 65 and chettinadu chicken dosa, and everything was very good. We are from Sri Lanka, and we really loved the kothu. It was nicely spicy and reminded us of home. The biryani and dosa were also delicious and well prepared. The customer service was very good, and the staff were friendly. You can tell there is a very good chef working in the kitchen. Our whole family enjoyed the food and the experience. We are happy we came here and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We initially went to have their thali meals. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that their lunch buffet was from Fridays-Sundays every week. Since it was also valentines day, the place was decorated with heart shaped balloons which we got to take home too. The place was very clean and seemed to be popular with the locals, which is a good sign. The buffet has quite a lot of items. First the first time I saw idli and dosa at the buffet station. Was really good! Another item worth mentioning is their goat curry. Was perfectly seasoned and tender--not too spiced as to overpower your taste buds. Would definitely be back just for the idli, sambar, and goat curry! And definitely try their masala chai at the end of your meal. Looking forward to bringing more friends and family to this hidden gem!

Very friendly and helpful staff with great recommendations. All the food we've had is absolutely delicious. Firm favourites are Mayuri Chicken, Lamb Tikka Masala and can't forget the garlic naan!

Weekend buffet was excellent! Especially the mixed mandi, naatukodi, and prawn fry—all were properly cooked with the right spice level. Prawn frying is tricky, as it can become hard and rubbery if overcooked, but it was done perfectly here. This is one of the few South Indian restaurants in NOVA that doesn’t have an Americanized spice level.

Amazing dosa with so many variations to choose. Other dishes we got also good. Good service. Store is a bit old but price is good.

This place is wonderful! We went for their Friday buffet. This place feels like home cooking. High quality food, incredibly tasty dishes that I wouldn’t see at run of the mill Indian buffets along with the more popular fare, and the service was awesome! We wish we had gotten the name of the gentleman at front of house, he was so kind and welcoming. If you treasure good quality food above all else, come here. We will surely be back!

I visited Mayuri, an Indian restaurant that many people in our community love. I was excited to try their new Friday lunch buffet. I had enjoyed their Saturday and Sunday buffets before, so I had high hopes. The Friday buffet had many tasty dishes, including butter chicken, biryanis , chicken pakoda and vegetarian options like palak paneer , bonda, dosa and Okra Pakoda Fry. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The naan bread was soft and went well with the rich curries. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff were very attentive. They kept the buffet stocked and clean, even during the busy lunch hour. It was a pleasant dining experience. To finish my meal, I had Mango Delight, which was delicious. Overall, Mayuri’s Friday lunch buffet is a great addition. The food is high quality, and the atmosphere is friendly, making it a perfect choice for anyone who loves Indian food. I’ll definitely come back to enjoy it again!

I have been going to Mayuri since the time they opened here in Herndon. It is the ‘go to’ place when you’re craving a Masala Dosa. This incredible dosa has a beautiful crispy crust and is filled with delicious potatoes (masala). Served with hot Sambar and a variety of chutneys, it is most satisfying! I try to come in once a month to get my dosa fix.
